Tribute to Jacky Ickx

TRIBUTE TO ARTISTS - YVON AMIEL
Yvon Amiel is a French artist and painter whose works are mainly oriented towards motorsport, his passion.
While his son was 4 years old, the father of Mr. Amiel, director of an art gallery, took him with him to visit the artists whose paintings he displayed. It is, undoubtedly, like this that vocations are born. Mr. Amiel’s father died on April 27, 2003 at the age of 69. The MONZA 71 table below is dedicated to him.
Yvon Amiel is also the author of the series of albums “Antoine le pilote”.

                                                                    Evolution Monza 71

Yvon Amiel had proposed to “Tribute to Jacky Ickx” to make us discover the evolution of a watercolor painting, that is to say the different stages of its realization, and thus create an original animation of the site. He therefore painted a watercolor of 50 x 70 cm, whose theme is the 1971 Italian Grand Prix contested in Monza. This Grand Prix is still currently the fastest in the history of Formula 1. Jacky Ickx drove the Ferrari 312B #3 while Clay Regazzoni drove the Ferrari 312B2 #4.
For several weeks, as the colors were being set up, photos of the artist’s work evolution were published on the site.
The thirteen protagonists drawn to attack the Parabolica in this 11th lap are Ronnie Peterson and Clay Regazzoni head-on, just behind them stand the 2 Tyrrells of François Cevert and Jackie Stewart. Then come Jacky Ickx, Jo Siffert, and more behind Mike Hailwood, Howden Ganley, Chris Amon and Peter Gethin the future winner. The three late arrivals are Jackie Oliver, Henri Pescarolo and Nanni Galli.
