The dream comes true at Château Lastour

We are on August 27, 2005, it is 6 o’clock in the morning. I start early for a big day of work because I am late in my deadlines for submitting documents. Around 9 o’clock, I turn on the computer and, as usual, first reflex, I take a look at the site of Jacky Ickx because Julien always has something to tell.

The dream in the dunes

Try to imagine yourself on the mythical circuit of Zandvoort, in a paddock with the image of the prancing horse, alongside a mythical pilot such as Jacky Ickx with whom you will stay for more than nine hours to discuss…

What a surprise, as I had entrusted my car to the Formula Sports garage (Mark Tashjian) for maintenance, when he told me that the maintenance documents proved that it was the car that Porsche had offered to Jacky.

Jacky Ickx: two rallies in 20 years

Jacky Ickx was indeed at the start of the 25th Boucles de Spa 1982 organized by his friend Alphonse Delettre. The car: the Porsche (of course) 924 GTS with which Walter Röhrl made rain and sunshine in the context of the 1981 German championship.

Memories

I wasn’t born into a family that was enthusiastic about motorsport. None of my friends or classmates, knew anything about racing cars but I had fallen in love with this sport.
